I've volunteered, now what?

You've told us that you would like to help us  and you've told us what you would like to do for us. So what happens now? How do you know when you will actually be needed to come along and do something for us?

In the past, someone would have had to sit down with the list of volunteers and a calendar and carefully allocate people to duties, all the while hoping that whoever they picked for a particular duty would be available on the day in question and still want to continue in the role. Revising the rota when things changed was usually inconvenient and time consuming for everyone concerned.

You'll be glad to hear that it doesn't have to be like that. Now, we use the capabilities of the website to set up rotas  that show when help is needed and you can simply book yourself in when you are available or, if things change as they often do, you can just as easily remove yourself from a slot. If you have booked yourself in to a Sunday morning service (using the website that is, not by ringing Andy!) you have already been using a rota. We have also been organising the cleaning of church using rotas and it works very well.

How to sign up - app
By far the easiest way is to use our app on your tablet or smartphone. Instructions for installing the app on iPads or iPhones are here and for Android devices they are here. The address you should use is euxtonparishchurch.org/hubb.

When you have installed the app, open it and log in. If you don't have website access you will need to register before you can log in - this can be done via the website.

At the bottom of the screen is a head & shoulders outline (Me), press that then select serving, then sign ups.  Here you will see all of the groups (teams) that you are part of.  A group is simply the team of people who have offered to help in a particular area, e.g. there is a cleaning group, an AV group, a Welcomers group and so on. If you have already told us how you would like to serve, you will already be in the correct group or groups and you should see them listed under signups.

To sign up then you just need to click on the group and then you will see what roles need filling.  Select the date(s) that suit you and you are signed up!  (Don't forget to keep looking back and signing up!).

In future, when you open the app your upcoming rota duties will be displayed right at the top of the page. There will also be a link to View your rotas.

How to sign up - website
If you don't want to use the app you simply have to sign in on the website and and click the My Area button in the top right hand corner. When you have done that you will see everything as it was described above for the app.

How to sign up - no website or app access
What happens if you haven't got a computer or a tablet or a smartphone? We understand that not everyone is comfortable using smartphones and computers so we will be setting up a helpline that you can use to get signed up to the rotas. More on that in due course.

I want to serve in another area of church life as well
If you decide that you would like to help in another area you just need to add yourself to the relevant group and, as if by magic, the group will appear in Signups. It's really easy to add yourself to a group....

Using the app...
At the bottom of the screen press the head & shoulders outline (Me), then select Account.  You will then see a page with a button called Groups, just press that and then find the group you want to join. If you can't see the group just click the little triangle next to Get involved and it will appear. Then, tick the group or groups that you want to join and press the apply button in the top right. That's all you have to do and the next time you go to signups you should see the groups there ready and waiting for you to sign up.

Using the website...
Sign in to the website and choose My Area. If you don't see a button called Groups just choose the Me button at the bottom of the screen and then choose Accounts. Click the Groups button and then proceed as though you were using the app.

When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our welcomers who will happily welcome you and answer any questions.
