The Roof Project

Sorry, your browser is unable to play this type of file. You can still download it

In recent years it has become increasingly evident that our beautiful 17th century church roof is leaking with copious amounts of water coming through. It is imperative that we seek to address the repairs as soon as possible. Several inspections have been made during the course of the last few years in order to ascertain the extent of the damage, the latest being performed in August 2020.

The report showed the position was even worse than we thought. There is significant damp internally, but this is just the visible part. The issue is around the chancel arch, coping stones, a lack of lead flashing and ridge tiles. There have also been several other issues identified such as problems with the timbers (which hold up the roof). If these, and other issues are not addressed imminently there is the potential for the roof to collapse and render the building not fit for use.

We have been informed that estimated costs may be in the region of £220,000!!! This was a devastating blow. As you will appreciate this is an absolutely huge amount to raise, especially in the current climate. However, we are keen to progress this as soon as possible. We want our church to continue to be a place of worship for our community not just for current generations, but for generations to come. Thank you!

We will be using this page to post updates, photos and let you know about the fundraising too.  So please keep coming back and checking.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Welcome

The following information is specifically for those planning to visit us for the first time, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

All our services take place in the Church Community Centre (details below) whilst there are building works in the church building .

We have a car park on School Lane, Euxton.
For church -  there is a footpath from the car park, which brings you out in the church grounds.
For church community centre - the entrance is opposite the car park entrance (across School Lane).

When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our welcomers who will happily welcome you and answer any questions.
